EEG, ESPN, and Everything Else!

Caleb’s EEG results came back today and we have a HEALTHY baby boy!!! The doctor was going to look further at the tests, but he said upon first glance it looks like Caleb’s brain activity is perfect. PRAISE GOD! All tests have been run and Caleb is 100% healthy according to the test. I am so thankful!

Last week was the hardest week of my life. Monday night’s events haunted me all week and seeing my son in that state broke my heart. There is part of me that will always be a little scared that it will happen again, but I am praying daily that God will keep my child safe and prevent any seizures from happening. In my daily devotion it was about giving your fears to God. How appropriate. But, it also talked about how if you ask God to do something for you, then you need to believe that he heard your prayer and trust him that he will provide the answer that is best for you.

The positive out of this event is that I saw how God works through people. Caleb has people praying for him that we have never met. My neighbors who I just wave to in passing stopped by the house to talk, bring us cookies, and check on my baby. My friends and co-workers have called me over and over to check in with me and Jeff and make sure we are coping. Our Community Group started praying before we even got out of the ambulance. And, strangers have cried with me and told me that their heart breaks for us because they had a similar situation with their child. God’s love was evident in all these people and made my faith even stronger.

Caleb is back to himself which is such a blessing. He is OBSESSED with basketball and ESPN. He wakes up in the morning and the first words out of his mouth are “Go Go Go” which is what he says when basketball is on. We put together his Little Tykes goal he got at Christmas for him. He is always playing basketball.

He has started to say more words like Hot, Out, Papa, Cheese, Shoes, and many more. He loves when you chase him and tickle him.

We are just so thankful he has been in such a great mood this week. It is wonderful to be able to play with him when he is healthy after the terrible events last week. I am so thankful that he is my baby. He is such a blessing.

This week has been busy at work for both me and Jeff, but hopefully we can enjoy some down time this weekend! We didn’t get to go on our Valentine’s Day of dinner and a concert, but we hope to reschedule sometime soon!

Thank you for all your prayers and concerns. We have the best family and friends ever.
