Parties, Gymboree, Doctors Appt
Last Friday, Caleb had a party at his preschool. The teachers did an excellent job. All the parents were invited at 12:00 for arts, cookie decorating (Yes, with 1 year olds!), and play time. Caleb and I made a snowman and had lots of fun playing with the other children and talking with their parents.
The cookie decorating didn’t go as well for us. My son was more concerned with eating the cookies than decorating them. Caleb has a sweet tooth just like me!
After the party, Caleb was extremely hyper so I asked him if he wanted to go to Gymboree. Gymboree was having an open gym where all the kids that were enrolled could come play. He started waving his hands up and down yelling, “Go, Go, Go”. I had to call Jeff while we were driving there because it was just too funny. I couldn’t drive him fast enough.
After some play time at the gym, we went to our one year appointment for our shots. I was planning on discussing Caleb’s eating problems with the doctor, but as soon as he walked in he told me we had some issues. Caleb only weighs 18 pounds. If you saw him, you wouldn’t think he was underweight, but clinically speaking he is. So, the doctor gave us strict orders to follow and has scheduled a few appointments for us with specialists. Hopefully the specialists will help us get to the bottom of Caleb’s eating issues.
Caleb didn’t get his shots at the appointment because he had a double ear infection. I had just told Jeff that morning that I thought he had an ear infection. So, we’ll go back for shots soon.
The good thing is that Caleb is in the 95th percentile for height, so hopefully he’ll be a basketball player someday! Football is out of the question until he actually gets on the growth chart in the weight department:)
After the doctor’s appointment, we got ready for a murder mystery party at our friend’s house. Caleb’s Meme came to watch him while we went out for an evening with friends. We had an incredible time at the party and really enjoyed catching up with everyone!
Saturday morning, Caleb, Mary Kay, and I went back to Gymboree for Caleb’s class. He was so excited when we got there. He went down the slide, played in the ball pit, played soccer, rode on the parachute, popped bubbles, and several other fun activities. He loves Gymboree.
Later in the afternoon, I wrapped presents while Caleb took a 2 and 1/2 hour nap! The poor boy was worn out.
Last night we went to Jeff’s work’s Christmas party. We had a wonderful time. It was my first time to meet most of the people he works with and I was very impressed. They are great people and now I am even more excited for Jeff and his new job. He is really enjoying his new job. I am so happy for him.
I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas! We’ll post lots of pictures and recaps of the holidays soon!
Thanks for checking in with us!
