Almost Thanksgiving!
I can’t believe that it is almost Thanksgiving. It is even more exciting this year because Caleb is with us. I can’t believe that in one week from tomorrow my little boy will be a year old! It has been such a wonderful year and I am more thankful than ever!
This weekend, we went to Tulsa so Caleb could visit his grandparents and play with his cousin Emma. We had a wonderful time. Emma is 5 months older than Caleb, so they are the perfect playmates. They played with the Little People, rode around in cars, and read books all day on Saturday.
Then, on Sunday, it was family birthday parties. We celebrated 5 birthdays with 3 different types of cakes. Yes, my plate had all 3 flavors! Caleb got his own car cake. It was so cute and Caleb loved it! He also got lots of new presents like an Elmo Airplane ride on toy, Elmo mailbox, blocks, a bubble grill, a tractor, cars, and an outfit. Caleb fell asleep before we got to the end of the driveway because he had so much fun at the party. It was great to see the family too!
When we got home Sunday night, Caleb got to play with his new toys. He loved each one of them. When I was putting Caleb to bed last night, he was still in party mode. Just as I thought I got him asleep, he would open his eyes big and wide and start cracking up laughing like, “Yeah right mom. I am not going to sleep.” After about 30 minutes, he decided he would go to bed. I was thankful.
Caleb will have another party with family at our house on December 6th. Jeff has been a great sport with me getting ready for his party. The only thing I have had to explain so far is the 4FT walking Elmo balloon. Ha! Don’t worry. We’ll post lots of pictures.
I am glad it is almost Thanksgiving, but I can’t believe that my baby is going to be a year old. I can still tell you almost every detail about this week last year because I was so excited for Caleb to get here! It has been such an amazing year and I feel so complete. God has been so good to me and my family! I am blessed!
As for a Caleb update, he is up to about 5 steps but that is only if he is walking in between me and Jeff. He could walk if he wanted to, but he just really isn’t interested in falling down. We have been practicing though. He loves his push walker. He walks all over the house with it. He hates food this week. I can’t get him to eat any table food and 3rd foods is a struggle. We have even resorted to letting him watch Barney while eating dinner and that isn’t working:(
Other than his eating issues, he is one happy boy. At daycare, they are always commenting on how happy he is. He stands at the window and waves at all the passing people. He is always smiling and giving hugs now. He claps for everyone when they do something funny. He is just such a great boy. He said Wa-Wa the other night to Jeff because he wanted some water. I was proud of him!
We’ll post more this weekend. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Enjoy your time with your family. We are thankful for our friends and family that love us and follow our blog! We’ll post more soon.
